one of our youth reads the lesson at a service
Old Testament, New Testament, Psalm, and Gospel readings for every day of the year.
The lectionary is a collection of bible passages appointed to be read at public worship. We use the Revised Common Lectionary (RCL). This lectionary is a three-year cycle of readings (Year A, B and C). Using the RCL, at each service (Saturday 4pm, and Sunday 9:30 am), we hear a passage from
- the Old Testament, Apocrypha or Acts of the Apostles
- from the Book of Revelation or the Epistles, and
- from one of the four Gospels.
and also read or sing a Psalm.

you taught us to pray.
So, in a moment of silence
we pray for all known to us
who tonight need to know you are near.
We thank you,
for all engaged in the ministries of healing and reconciliation,
for those who work in hospitals and hospices,
for doctors and district nurses,
for carers and counsellors,
for peacemakers and peacekeepers.
God our maker,
Jesus our healer,
Holy Spirit of love and life,
hear our prayers.
To those who seek you,
to all who need you,
to the world you cherish
bring peace. (The Iona Abbey Worship Book, p. 123)
